DIY Potty Prize Box
With Landon potty training, I’ve found myself searching, and asking for advice from other moms, on what to do to keep him interested in going…on the pot.
After a surprise potty prize box from my Mother-In-Law I decided to make a super awesome box that would make him excited every time he saw it. Something that’s so awesome, he would want to do anything possible to see what’s inside the box.
I purchased almost everything from Hobby Lobby, but you can shop from Walmart or anywhere else. I spent less than $35 total – most of you will probably have most of this stuff on hand, if you’re a crafter. You don’t have to use the colors I chose, you can pick any colors you want for your potty prize box – maybe your toddler’s favorite colors?
This project take a total of 2 days. You really want to make sure the paint is dry and you might want to use more layers than I did.

PostHeaderIcon Potty Time: You Can Do It Pack Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review an awesome potty training kit from Potty Time.

When I received my kit, I was super stoked. Inside I had a potty training DVD, CD, book, watch & a cute stuffed frog named Hopkins. What child wouldn’t want to potty train with a set of goodies like this?

So, I opened the watch and read the directions on how to set it up. Easy schmeezy!

“Laaaandon! Wanna go peepee?”

Okay, so on to what I thought of the products.

The first thing I’ll talk about is the Potty Time Board Book – “Hopkins Uses the Potty.”
The book is made of cardboard, so it’s hard for kids to tear. The font is big enough to read easily and the pictures are bright and colorful.

The DVD & CD are in the same case, which I think is a good idea. Not only does it save on plastic but it makes it easier for me to have everything in one place.
The CD has a listening version and a sing-along version of each song. The DVD fits perfectly into out life right now. Teaching Landon to sign was one of the best decisions I feel I could make for him at this point. He can sign to me exactly what it wants; food, water, milk etc…
So we threw “potty” in there. “Potty” is very similar to “play” to him. Meaning he doesn’t get his hand in the right form just yet. He will though (:
The DVD shows signs for things such as “potty”, “try”, “diaper” and more. Along with signing, there is music and signing and even encouragement.

The next item is stuffed Baby Hopkins.
He’s adorable! His undies come off so you can help him potty train with your child. Landon LOVES sitting Hopkins on his potty after he’s done. He’ll giggle then say “all done!” Hopkins seems to have been sewn well. There were no tears or loose strings. I also gave him the tug test-Landon still puts stuff in his mouth occasionally. I would hate for him to choke.
On Hopkins’ rear he has a cute little “tattoo” of his name. Reminds me of those “MOM” tattoos that men get (:

The last product I’m going to talk about is the Potty Time Reminder Watch for Kids.
Wow, is that thing annoying! LOL. It’s not bad though really. That was just my thought after the first 2 days.
You can choose to set it to go off every 30, 60 or 90 minutes. Since we’re starting out, I decided to set it for every 30 minutes. As he gets older and is able to hold it or understands more what his body is saying, then I’ll change the time.
The colors are bight which seem to be very appealing to toddlers. Landon loves his green one.
The watch is in the shape of a toilet! It flashes colors and plays music when it’s time to go potty. Landon has learned that every time it goes off, he has to pee. Even if he just peed on the floor, in his diaper or whatever. He has to pee.
The only annoying thing about it isn’t really the watch, it’s potty training in general lol.
It seemed like the watch was going off just seconds after I was done washing his hands. After a few days though, the annoyance stopped.

I really think this kit has helped Landon learn to potty train. He is starting to notice what his body is telling him.
Just the other day Landon was naked, went into the bathroom and went pee AND poop all by himself. Then emptied the contents of his potty into the big potty and flushed-ALL BY HIMSELF! Today, every time he had to pee, he would run to the bathroom and do some crazy potty dance lol.

You can visit them on Facebook, Twitter and on their website for more potty training tips and tricks.

Overall, I give Potty Time’s You Can Do It Pack 5 out of 5 stars.
