Newman’s Own Organics Review
I was recently given the opportunity to review some super tasty snacks from Newman’s Own Organics (NOO).
I’m sure you’re thinking something along the lines of “Newman’s Own has really good salad dressing.” Or maybe even “Oh I love their cheese dip it is a little spicy but not too bad.” Well guess what? Newman’s Own and Newman’s Own Organics are 2 different companies! They do work together, but they do not sell the same thing.
About The Company:
Newman’s Own Organics was established as a division of Newman’s Own in 1993, and became a separate company in late 2001. Paul Newman has given over $200 million to thousands of charities worldwide since 1982. You all know who Paul Newman is, right? He’s the founder of Newman’s Own AND he’s an actor! He stared in The Color of Money, Martin Scorsese and many other films. He was a stud in his younger years.
Anyways, Paul Newman had a daughter (well he had many kids), but Nell is the one that founded Newman’s Own Organics. The company develops products from certified organic ingredients. All the products are packaged in a distinctive, eye-catching way and feature an amusing photo of an American Gothic “Pa” Newman and daughter Nell plus a fanciful story.
Newman’s Own Organics is also a pet friendly company. They make and sell dog and cat food! That’s right, now your dog can also eat the best organic food there is! Make sure you keep your eyes open for my dog food review in the next few weeks!
Okay, so I received:

My Opinion:
I’m going to start with what I didn’t like. There wasn’t much I didn’t like, but I didn’t like the Super Dark Chocolate Bar. It was very bitter to me. I tried baking with it and I still didn’t care for it. However, my mom LOVES it! Just a difference in taste I guess.
My absolute favorite was the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. I have never really like oatmeal, so I was a little worried. When I bit into the first cookie though, it was heavenly. Each bite has a chocolate chip in it. They were soft on the inside and a little crunchy on the outside. I like them so much, I didn’t let Cody have any…seriously.
The mints are really good! They’re not too spicy or minty like some are, but there is enough mint in it to freshen your breath. I keep a roll of each in my purse and leave the rest in my candy jar. Oh and Cody keeps a roll with him at work.
I didn’t get to try to Ginger ‘n’ Cream Newman-O’s because Cody ate them all, but here is his review on those “I thought they were delicious with milk. They were balanced in flavor, they soaked the milk up when dipping…far more than any Oreo, and I could eat them WITHOUT milk and enjoy them which NEVER happens.”
So I guess that means he like them! lol
The Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies and the Orange Dark Chocolate Bar were a little too orangey tasting for me. However, I did like the Orange Chocolate Chip Bar in a cake! Yup, I crushed it up and put it in my cake white cake batter.
The sour licorice isn’t very sour at all. It’s more sweet than sour, which works for me because I don’t care for sour things. Well, occasionally I really like super sour things, but not often. Anyways, I let Landon have some, that’s how NOT sour they are.
The pretzels were really good. I love that they weren’t too salty. I love pretzels…a lot. I can eat a whole bag in one sitting-Please don’t tell anyone that! (:
The Pop’s Corn is really tasty. It’s buttery without being overloaded, but you can actually taste the butter taste. Unlike some popcorn that isn’t very buttery tasting. It’s very fulffy tasting and airy. – I’m eating some right now.
Landon’s favorite was well everything, but I think he really liked the raisins and the Fig Newmans. He always asked for more.
I used the licorice as a potty training treat. Needless to say, he didn’t get very many!
I know by now you’re wondering how much weight I gained eating all of this stuff. Well, that will stay a secret but I didn’t feel bad eating it because it’s all organic! Some things were even fat free!
Overall, I give Newman’s Own Organics 5 out of 5 stars.
Guess what?
