Review: Honey, The Thermal-Aid Bear
For weeks on end I had entered every Thermal-Aid giveaway I could find, in hopes of winning one of those cute bears for Landon. Slowly each giveaway ended and each time, I wasn’t a winner. Then, I was offered the chance to review a Thermal-Aid bear of my own! I was super stoked and quickly accepted.
When my Thermal-Aid Bear finally arrived (I’m exaggerating here, it really didn’t take long to receive) I was super stoked. Really, it couldn’t have come at a better time. My neck and upper back was killing me. So, I popped Mr. Honey in the microwave and relaxed on the couch for 30 minutes.
I was quite impressed by how long the bear stayed warm for. I only nuked (heeheh) him for 30 seconds and he was toasty for about 20 minutes! The other 10 minutes I dozed off for, so I’m not sure if he stayed warm longer than that or not :p
He’s also nice to place on your lower back & abdomen for those pesky “lady” cramps. Just heat him up for about a minute and you can enjoy that bowl [or in my case a gallon] of ice cream.
I really love that they can be used as both, a hot and cold pack. I just pop him in the freezer for a few hours and he’s ready to go! Well, his permanent home is in the freezer. It’s easier to put him there, because I know he’ll be ready. I got that idea from Rebekah at DealPeddler.
Landon’s 2 year molars have been coming in this last month and they’re absolutely horrible. He’s always been really good with teething – no fussing, no fevers or sweats, really no symptoms except drooling. This time though, he’s fussy, drooly, and feverish constantly. I’ve found that a cold Mr. Honey really helps with his sweats and fever. Many times, he’s fought sleep until I gave him Mr. Honey. It’s nice to know that there is something that soothes Landon, when it’s not always possible for me to soothe him.
Also, he fits perfectly in the freezer next to the Popsicles – we’re going to have to discuss his ice cream eating habit though
Like most moms, I am concerned about what I’m using on my son. Especially since he’s got such sensitive skin and well, he’s still a baby. So when I was checking out their website (months ago, when I was trying to win one) I was excited to see that they are 100% Natural.
“Thermal-Aid” is a revolutionary, 100% natural therapeutic heating/cooling treatment pack specifically designed for the medical field, to reduce swelling and relieve pain. Our researchers worked closely with milling engineers from the largest agribusiness companies in the world to create a line of products, using a unique process, which allows a specialized corn to hold temperatures for long periods of time. This process removes the germ from the kernel, thus removing virtually all the moisture and preventing mold or fungi from forming. The entire process hardens the corn segments, causing an even temperature in each segment, and creating extended temperature retainment (hot and cold). This also extends the life of the corn beyond that of the material it’s sewn into!
Did you read that? It has corn in it! I had a hot/cold pack bear when I was growing up, but it didn’t have corn in it. Also, it wasn’t as soft as Honey, the Thermal-Aid Bear is.
With each bear under $20, I really think it’s a great idea to have around the house – birthday gifts, Christmas gifts and baby shower gifts are great excuses to buy them also!
Do you have fur-babies? They have Thermal-Aid packs for pets also. Don’t have any kind of “babies?” Well, they have Thermal-Aid packs for adults!
Not only do doctors recommend Thermal-Aid, but I do too! Besides, Mr. Honey is great for kids AND adults.
So to recap real quick all the things I love are:
-Washable – because let’s face it, kids get stuff dirty.
-Multipurpose (hot & cold).
-Cute & soft.
-100% Natural.
-Stays warm for a long time.
-Small enough to keep in the freezer, always.
-Fairly priced!
-Great for kids and adults.
