Amy from Savvy Saving Couple
Remember my blogger series I told you about? Well I’m actually keeping up with it! This week we have a real life ‘Super-Mom’ (!!!) and it’s Amy from Savvy Saving Couple. There’s a little about her husband too! I love Amy for a few reasons; one is because she’s totally awesome! Another reason is because she totally told me I’m in her Top 5 favorite blogs – shut the front door! The other reason, is she’s super crafty. I get so much inspiration from her blog – and I always leave hungry…*grrr*
Anyways, enough about me:

How did you get started blogging? How long have you been blogging for?
I got started blogging in March of 2011. I was actually working as a CNA to help pay my Master’s Degree to be an officially licensed teacher. At the time I had two little ones, and no daycare. I really needed a job that I could work “off” hours at while my husband was with the kids. Needless to say the field of healthcare was not for me…I lasted 3 weeks. Blogging was something I toyed with for years, but I never officially made the jump until 2011-so glad I did!

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging is having an outlet to express my thoughts, and creativity, I do not get much adult interaction during the day so I appreciate any, and all reader interaction, and blogging buddy conversations I get.

Your name is Savvy Saving Couple, does your husband also use coupons when he shops? Does he review items on your blog also?
Jared, my husband actually hates coupons. He hates the time I spend clipping them, the random piles I have around the house, the stockpile I have created from coupon use, and the shopping trips. Most of all he hates checkout time, and often leaves me flat at the registers because there is usually always a problem.
Jared does help out with a good amount of techy, and “guy” reviews on the site. I appreciate his help greatly because it does take a great weight off my shoulders.

I know it’s not fair to pick favorites, but what’s your favorite product that you’ve reviewed so far?
My favorite product that I have reviewed so far is probably any makeup that I’ve received. It is funny because I do not use makeup everyday, but when I do I love having tons of selection to choose from. They are so soft, and silky! Jared’s favorite would most definitely be all the Ryobi Tools.

How do you juggle 3 young kids and blogging?
Juggling 3 kids can be hard at times, but didn’t you know I am secretly Super Mom? Actually, my kids are all really good, and spend much of the day playing, and having fun. They know mommy has to do some work during the day, and they are really good about it.

I see you do a lot of cooking (I’m seriously drooling as I look at all the recipes on your blog), what’s your favorite thing you’ve made?
My favorite recipe that I have made so far is probably one of my latest creations. It is called Lasagna Roll-Up Cups. These are really easy to make, and portion control is really easy because these are very filling, and soo yummy! I think cheese makes everything better so anything lasagna is awesome! Here’s my recipe.

Tell me more about this Cupcake challenge you’re participating in…can I join the next one?
The Cupcake Challenge is part of an overall yearly challenge. Each month we focus on a new theme, and work around that. You already know you are a stuck with us the next 9 months…get your oven fired!

I see you also do a lot of crafts & DIY projects. What holiday do you find you have the most crafts to do?
In a perfect world I would post a craft every week. I consider myself to be a pretty creative person so with just a few supplies I can make art. Finding the beauty in little things is something that easily comes to me. I actually loved making slime with my kids. I know it is not really a craft, but it is a great way to keep little ones busy for hours. Here’s my craft.

If you had to pick only 1 blog to follow for the rest of your life, who would it be?
If I had to pick one blog to follow for the rest of my life it would be a blog that was personable with its readers. I love any blog that takes the time to comment, and interact with readers. Of course Written by Mama is in my top 5..how else would I find out about the trials and tribulations of raising little Landon.

What’s one thing you’d like you’re readers to know about you?
I would like my readers to know that I am always available to answer questions. I really do love to help people in any way that I can.

Make sure you follow Amy on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for coupons, crafts, giveaways and more! :)
