PostHeaderIcon Hoohobbers Rocking Chair Review

I love kids stuff. It’s so small & always cute.

So when I had the opportunity to review this adorable rocking chair from Hoohobbers I was a little giddy (:

I had done my research on it before picking it. Afterall, I wanted to make sure that was something we would actually use for a while.
So I picked this super adorable denim rocking chair with Landon’s name on it.

When it first arrived it was fully assebled. All I had to do was “unfold” it. I’m sure you’re thinking, “unfold it? what?!” It’s a fully collapsible chair!

I love that it’s collapsable. I can fold it down, toss it in the car and take it to go. We’ve used it at the lake and at my mom’s.

The embrodary is done really nice and there’s no stray thread. The denim part of the chair is realy nice also, there aren’t any tears or snags. It’s really easy to wash also. The plastic is smooth – I just get a baby wipe and clean it off. To clean the cloth part, I just use a damp cloth to get any grime off.

Landon loves sitting in his rocking chair. When we first got it, he refused to sit in his high chair to eat. He had to sit in his rocking chair at this Thomas The Train table.

There was one part of the chair that made me a little concerned at first. The front of the chair has a little metal pole to hold the denim to the chair. The metal pole sticks out just a little bit. I have tried hammering it in and can’t get it ):
I was worried that he might get cuts on his legs or something, but the pole is smooth and no sharp parts. We haven’t had any problems in the [almost] 2 months we’ve had it.

If you’re unfamiliar with Hoohobbers, I bet you didn’t know their stuff is made in Chicago. Hoohobbers has been around for over 30 years. They offer a wide variety of products from newborn to children over the age of 5. All of their “hard goods” are collapsable like the rocking chair. Making it easy to transport and store somewhere out of the way.

“In 1979 Bill & Judy Sommerschield & their 2 young daughters were having Thanksgiving dinner with Bill’s parents. One daughter used a bulky booster seat to raise herself up to table size; the other was left with the Chicago phone book having to do the deed. Bill wondered why there wasn’t a partable booster seat to solve this seating problem…”

It only took a few years to successfully complete this dream.

After at least 6 companies took Bill’s idea, he decided to branch out to more than just booster seats. That’s when the director’s chair, laundry hamper, toy box and all the other great ideas were born.

Hoohobbers received over 75 awarded patents, Best Design Awards from America’s Juvenile Products Association, Parents Choice Awards and much more.

Overall, I think my Hoohobbers Rocking Chair is awesome. The quality is outstanding and Landon loves it – that itself is awesome (:

We are looking at getting this rocking chair for our 2 year old son that has brain injuries. He loves to rock and I liked the reviews online for this chair. Wondering from another mom – is it easy to tip over? We really want one that we’ll feel safe letting him rock in, with normal rocking of course. Would love to know what you’ve experienced :)

I haven’t had any problems with tipping. It does look like it will tip over if they rock hard & fast enough – but I haven’t actually had him tip. Sure gave me some scares though! lol
