Elf On The Shelf
Today we woke up and found Stass on grandma’s shelf drinking her vintage Coca-Cola! Okay, well I’m not sure if it’s vintage…
Anyways, can you believe he drank 2 sodas and was getting ready to pop open another when we found him?! I really don’t think my mom is going to be happy. She has a huge collection of Coca-Cola stuff.
He should also know, his teeth are going to rot out with all the junk he eats and drinks. Tsk, tsk Stass.

Elf On The Shelf: Time For A Car Ride
Today we found Stass hanging out at the key-ring holder. He knew I had some errands to run and was ready to get my slow butt out the door! lol
Landon wasn’t very good yesterday evening & today. I think my stress, sadness and everything else is rubbing off onto him. I try really hard to keep myself calm when he’s acting up, because it’s not really his fault. He misses Cody and he doesn’t know any other way to express these new emotions he’s feeling. We’re working through it though & I’m pretty sure I’m going to go to counseling and see a specialist on how to help with Landon’s feelings & emotions. It’s going to take a lot of work, but we’ll get through this
So until we get through this rough patch, I don’t think Santa will put Landon on the naughty list.

Elf On The Shelf: Who Doesn’t Like Blackberries?
This morning we found Stass eating Blackberries. Okay, that’s a lie, we found him like this a few days ago, but I haven’t blogged in a while, so I figured I could just start where I left off at, right?
Anyways, Landon has good days & bad days. Yesterday when we were at our Survivors Christmas Party, he was a bad, bad boy. Santa still gave him a present though! Landon just wanted to play with the toys & stalk Santa all night. I wanted to go interact with real people. Guess who won? Not me. Landon threw a huge fit when we were leaving – he even threw himself on the street & hit his head. :-/
Before I let you go, here’s a fun fact about Blackberries:
The (usually) black fruit is not a true berry; botanically it is termed an aggregate fruit, composed of small drupelets.

Elf On The Shelf: Coffee. Good.
Stass must have been reading my mind this morning when he went for the coffee. I was in such a fog when I woke up, I couldn’t even function. Stass was happily waiting for me though
I don’t think he should have gone for the KCups though. He should have just made a large pot of coffee. You probably wouldn’t be surprised if I told you, Stass asked for 6 cubes of sugar with his coffee – good thing he brushes his teeth!
Landon was okay yesterday. He had a few fussy moments, but not as bad as he’s been before. It’s a good thing, because Santa already went shopping and bought him a LeapPad for Christmas. Waiting in the return line sucks, little guy. How have your kids been this holiday season?

Elf On The Shelf: Stass Is Hanging Around
Guess where we found Stass this morning? On the Chandelier! Silly Stass. I asked him why he was up there and you know what he said? Landon had been touching him yesterday!! I told Landon not to touch Stass, or he might lose his Elf Magic. I hope that doesn’t land him on the Naughty List!
Maybe after today, Landon will remember to not touch Stass anymore. As much as I love Stass, he needs to be able to see Santa every night. Mostly to scare Landon into being good – I think I have another year or 2 before this Elf on the Shelf thing will actually work though. That’s okay, it’s still fun to put him in strange places and have Landon search for him each morning.

Elf On The Shelf: We Got Our Christmas Tree!
So yesterday we got our Christmas Tree! It only took us about an hour to buy it and get it in my blazer. The gentleman they had loading the tress is a tiny, elder man – Walmart really needs to re-think this…
Anyways! This morning we found Stass decorating the tree with Cherry flavored Candy Canes! Unfortunately, I had to remove all the canes because Landon decided to eat 2 of them. Sugar Rush!
Because of his shenanigans, we decided not to decorate the tree at all this year LOL. Well, we might get some Christmas Lights on it, but no ornaments and stuff. It doesn’t make me too disappointed though, I remember last year a 3 year old choked on the top of a Christmas Ornament on Christmas Eve. (Eek!)
Anyways, Landon wasn’t too bad yesterday. Today was better though!

Elf On The Shelf: It’s A Food Group…Right?
This morning was quite a surprise for Landon and I. We went into the kitchen to get some milk & breakfast and guess what we saw? Stass slurping away at the syrup!
Now I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure the movie Elf did imply that elves drink syrup and that it is in fact a major food group…for elves. Landon, better not get any ideas.
All I know is, if Stass continues to give himself a sugar rush, I’m going to designate him as babysitter – Happy Hour is Monday-Friday 5-8.
Landon wasn’t too bad yesterday. We’re starting to receive Christmas gifts from distant family. He’s just curious to see what’s in the boxes. Santa, if you’re reading this, he’s 2 ![]()
Hm…I should sneak one of my business cards into Stass’s back pocket.

Elf On The Shelf: Stass Misses Santa
So I was a bad mommy yesterday. I didn’t move Stass. Yesterday was so crappy, that I actually didn’t even care that Landon was asking where Stass was – I threw him in a bag and threw it on the top of the fridge. I should clarify, I threw Stass in a bag, Landon wouldn’t fit ![]()
I told him that Stass didn’t come home because he missed Santa too much and decided to stay the night with him.
So this morning, I kept up with the “missing Santa” idea. We found Stass sitting on the shelf next to the Santa stocking holder.
I actually feel bad for the little guy. Imagine being with Santa every single day, then BOOM! you’re thrown into a house with dogs (yuck!) and a boogery nosed toddler boy. I would be pretty depressed also.
Just look at the admiration and love he has for Santa. Poor Stass, not much longer and you can be free for an entire 11 months. Wait! Take me with you, please?

Elf On The Shelf: We Have Chocolate!
Stass is really warming up to us – I couldn’t be happier! After his little stunt this morning, I think he should stick around. Maybe even after Christmas?
Anyways, this morning Stass brought Landon and I Advent Calendars! This was a tradition I had as a child, so it was really exciting when I saw them
Landon’s behavior was…bad, for lack of a better word. Apparently Stass thought otherwise, since he brought Landon – and I – a surprise!

Elf On The Shelf: Did You Take Your Vitamin Today?
Yesterday was a good day for Landon. There were a few moments that frustrated me, but that’s because I was already having a rough day. So I don’t think Santa got a bad report last night – which is good for Landon!
When I woke up this morning, Landon instantly said “Stass!” That’s when I realized, “Shit I didn’t move him last night!” :-/ Eek!
So I told Landon to sit on my bed while I go pee-pee. So I ran frantically to find Stass – who was still sitting by the bathroom sink – and I ran in circles trying to find what to do with him. That’s when I saw it, Landon’s vitamins! *Whew*
I really think Stass will be a good “role model” for Landon over the holidays, as long as he keeps up these good habits! ![]()
How has your child[ren] been so far this season? Do you have an Elf on the Shelf?
